For the purpose of appealing the humanity of women in particular and the whole employees of PECC2 in general, the Women Board of the Company has launched a voluntary movement “mutual affection, mutual love” by raising fund to visit and present gifts to the orphans at Tam Binh Children Nourishing Sponsor Center (Tam Binh center), Thu Duc District. The amount of collected money is more than VND 30 million, in which VND 5 million is used to support Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ngat (retired employee of Southern Investigation Enterprise – PECC2 is now in the situation of facing with life difficulties); nearly VND 5 million is used to buy candies, cookies, milk, cuddly toys… for the children at Tam Binh Center and the remaining VND 20 million is used to contribute to the Center’s voluntary fund using for the purpose of supporting the orphans and disadvantaged children as well as sharing with the difficulties of the Center.
Tam Binh center, which is under Department of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City is nourishing 218 children, including babies and those under 18 years old, most of whom are the orphans, disabled or those caught dioxin, cerebral palsy… The majority of the children are in poor malnutrition and sickness state, so the healthcare is given the most priority.
When we visited the center, a half of the children were going to schools in Thu Duc District to attend the training curriculum as others and join the society. A number of them graduated high school and have been studying in universities, colleges or vocational schools. We only met more than 100 children who are in-place kindergarten and those are underdeveloped and not be able to care themselves. All activities of eating, sleeping, washing must be taken all day and night by nursemaids.
We came to the living place of these children, gave thoughtful enquiry, presented them and shared our love with the unlucky children. Seeing the happiness of the children when they got the milk, cookies or small toys, we are really moved to tears.
In spite of having taken many community sharing activities, the women of PECC2 cannot help feeling deep grief when we saw and hold the cerebral palsy children, who just lie unconsciously and hold tightly our hands to feel the love.
Even thought we were able to spend only 2 hours with these children, it was our really meaningful time to share and understand their disadvantages and difficulties and give our heartfelt love to the most disadvantaged children in our society.
Coming back to the work, each of us feels so sorry for the poor situation of the children who are deserved to have a happy home. We also feel great admiration for people working at Tam Binh center, who have being sacrificing their life for caring the disadvantaged children day by day for such a long time. We hope that the love and kindheart of PECC2 staff will have small contribution to making the life of these children happier and better.
