The contract signing ceremony on providing consulting services for Mong Duong 2 Thermal Power Project

A contract on providing consulting services was signed between Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2) and AES Corporation >>>>>

On November 15, 2011 a contract on providing consulting services was signed between Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2) and AES Corporation. The contract includes design approval as well as quality control and monitoring of Project (QA / QC) – BOT Project – Mong Duong 2 Thermal Power Project (2x560MW). Attended at the ceremony are Mr. David Stone – General Manager of Mong Duong 2 Project (from the owner), Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh – CEO of PECC2 (from PECC2) and representatives from Financial & Accounting Department, Planning and Investment Department and Thermal Power Engineering Center.

Mong Duong 2 Thermal Power Project in Mong Duong, Cam Pha provincial town – Quang Ninh Province was invested in the form of BOT (Build – Operate – Transfer). The owners of the project include AES Corporation (USA), Posco Power (Korea) and Chinese Investment Corporation – CIC (China). The total expected investment capital of the project is about USD 1.9 billion. After completion, Mong Duong 2 Thermal Power Project will be the first coal-fired thermal BOT project and the biggest private power project in Vietnam so far.

The project started in November, 2011 and planned to complete two units in May, 2015. The contract will be performed by PECC2 within 18 months for design approval and until project completion for quality control and monitoring.
