Since February, 2006 Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 has been assigned as the main consultant for survey, design and supervision of “500kV Son La – Hiep Hoa Transmission line project with a scale of two circuits and a total length of 269 km. The transmission line passes through 5 mountainous provinces in the north (Son La, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang) including the complicated and rough terrain of North - West mountainous region and the mid land area with a dramatical change in topography and geology.

PECC2 engineers who are in charge of design and survey have worked tiredlessly since the first hard days. They were present in the most difficult positions where isolated foundations are located to carry out design survey as well as solve all the prolems arising during construction process. Thanks to the intensive guidance of company leaders of National Power Transmission Corporation (NPT) and Management Board of Northern power projects, 90% of isolated foundations and over 60% of transmission lines have been completed by contruction units until September, 2011. The work has been quickly carried out to transmit the power from unit 4 of Son La hydropower plant which will generate power and join the national power network next December.
